A public welfare exhibition by artist Ji Yali opened in Beijing on July 20, displaying 50 artworks, including collaborative works with painter Lei Linghua.

Diplomatic envoys from countries including Gabon, Malaysia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Ecuador, officials, experts and practitioners from the art and cultural scenes attended the opening ceremony.

Ji has been committed to rescuing stray animals in cities since 2009 and serves as a relief worker and ambassador for the Chinese nongovernmental animal protection organization Don't Eat Friends.

Inspired by a traveling experience to Mumbai, she started painting in 2015. She hopes to awaken people's love for animals with her works.

In 2022, she published a picture book titled No. 11 Inn and donated all royalties to animal protection organizations.

The exhibition is hosted at CNTY Beijing Office and will run until July 27.
