Suzhou opens innovation center for Taiwan youth

The Taiwan Youth Innovation Center in Suzhou New District, East China's Jiangsu province, was put into use on July 25 to welcome the third Cross-Strait Youth Culture Month, which will open in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu, in August.

Located in SND Pioneering Park, the innovation center is expected to function as a platform for talent attraction, Taiwan-invested enterprise incubation, and youth exchanges and draw more Taiwan youth to Jiangsu for starting businesses.

The first startup projects by Taiwan youth agreed to build operations in the center, which will provide better services and employ directors of leading enterprises in SND in a mentoring role.

The center has received approval to establish the Suzhou Exchange Center with Taiwan to further promote the matchmaking of high-quality resources between the two places and create a cultural exchange brand for industrial complementarity, youth exchange and cultural integration.

The Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Service Alliance was established on the same day to fully support the development of Taiwan youth in Jiangsu. The alumni associations of some Taiwan universities in Chinese mainland have joined the alliance.

The SND has always been a favored place for Taiwan youth and enterprises to start businesses and invest and the district currently is home to about 3,000 Taiwan people.
