Horse Walking Race placed in Baotou

The Baotou Horse Walking Race was held at Saikhantal Speed Racecourse in Baotou on July 21, attracting more than 100 riders nationwide.

At the umpire's call, the vigorous riders and strong horses swarmed out, causing cheers from the crowd at the scene.

A racer with nearly 40 years of experience said, "The track of Baotou is excellent. In fact, there is no gravel on the sand, which is very suitable for horses to play."

"It was like the horses were dancing, and the posture was beautiful. The journey has not been made in vain," one of the audience from Tongliao city said.

It is learned that the pace of the horse movement between horse walking and speed racing is different. Walking horses alternate legs on the same side, while speed horses alternate on wildebeest. A walking horse is judged by its steadiness, while a speed horse is judged by its speed.

"Mongolian horses are generally chosen for horse walking. In this competition, we have set up two groups for men and women to participate in the 400-meter horse race," said Liu Weimin, deputy general manager of Baotou Horse City Tourism Culture Co.
