The city saw more than 41,300 newly established market entities in the first half of the year, up 22.9 percent year-on-year, official data has shown.
Among them, the city's registered enterprises exceeded 13,100, an increase of 12.3 percent. The number of small businesses had also grown by 28.4 percent to over 28,000. A total of 86 agricultural cooperatives were launched, a year-on-year growth rate of 53.6 percent.
According to Xu Qin, an official with the local market supervision bureau, the growth rate in Taizhou’s software and information technology service sector was "impressive," as the bureau noted 805 newly market entities in the field, up 72 percent year on year.
"With the technological progress in cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and other emerging fields, the information and software sector has gained new momentum and a favorable external environment. Its development has entered a critical period of integration, innovation and rapid iteration in Taizhou," Xu added.
Not to be left behind, Taizhou's catering industry is constantly innovating its marketing strategies by creating new immersive and experiential consumption scenarios. It has also been promoting the integration of its online and offline services. All these factors have played a positive role in the recovery of catering consumption, Xu noted.
The official went on to say that with the expansion of consumption policies and the continuous recovery of the tourism market, the catering industry will continue to accelerate its development.
The new market entities in the culture, sports and entertainment industries have also shown robust growth in the first half of this year.
