Shijiazhuang industrial park sees growth in vehicle production

Shijiazhuang Equipment Manufacturing Industrial Park, a zone that gathers the production of multiple kinds of vehicles in Shijiazhuang, North China's Hebei province, has seen fast growth in the past several years, a local authority said.

"The annual growth rate of the park's overall output has kept above 20 percent in the past three years," said Cao Shiyan, deputy head of the park's administrative committee.

According to Cao, in the park there are vehicle manufacturers for different fields, including rail traffic, general aviation, hydrogen energy storage and transportation, as well as special mechanical equipment.

Among them is CRRC Shijiazhuang Co, which produces about 150 urban rail vehicles annually. CRRC Shijiazhuang Co is a subsidiary company under the lead of CRRC Corporation Ltd — the country's leading supplier for rail transit equipment. It has provided 45 trains for subways in Shijiazhuang, reaching the goal that all the trains used in the city's subway system are made locally, Cao said.

He added that the company also made more than 400 new energy buses last year.

Chery Automobile Co, a globalized automobile brand headquartered in Wuhu of Anhui province, has established a base in the park for producing new energy cars, according to Cao.

"We will further promote more producers to gather here for developing advanced and high-end manufacturing and strive to improve the industrial chains," he said.
