Carrying 846 passengers from Guizhou province, the Y406/407 tourist special train departed from Guiyang Station at 4:42 am on July 18, heading for Korla city in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
This marked the first departure of Guizhou Railway's summer vacation tourist special train to Xinjiang, as well as the first tourist special train bound for Xinjiang in the country this summer, kicking off a 15-day summer tour of Xinjiang.
The train, operated by China Railway Chengdu Group Co, is set to pass through Guizhou, Chongqing, Sichuan, Gansu, and Xinjiang. Passengers will visit renowned scenic spots in Xinjiang, such as the Taklimakan Desert, Tianshan Grand Canyon, Huoyan Mountain, Sailimu Lake and Narat Grassland, which allow them to fully appreciate the area's beautiful scenery and experience the magnificence of Northwest China.
To ensure the travel is safe and smooth, Guiyang Station opened a "green channel" and organized volunteers to strengthen guidance at key areas such as entrances, overpasses, and platforms.
Considering the relatively long duration of the trip, in order to make the long journey more interesting and prevent fatigue, activities such as karaoke sessions, poetry contests, and chess competitions will be organized on the train.
In addition, the train is equipped with onboard doctors and professional tour guides to ensure that passengers are happy, safe, and comfortable.
Since the beginning of this year, based on passenger demand, the company has made targeted efforts to increase the operation of regular and high-speed tourist trains to integrate railways and cultural tourism.
