Fine works by artists of varying ages are on show at Originality, an exhibition at the Shi Art Museum through to Aug 16. It shows ink works, oil paintings, prints, watercolors and sculptures by established artists, such as Guang Jun, Du Dakai and Sun Jingbo, many of who have endeavored in creation and art education for decades.
Meanwhile it displays works by a younger generation of artists of illustration books, which are now in trend as they are popular among parents and children for quality education materials. The juxtaposition shows the evolution of art styles in the country, and how the diversification addresses world trends and home-grown needs.
Ning Jing, the exhibition's curator, says those illustrators featured at the show are active social media users, which has added at the exhibition the dimension of social networking in the way to promote art.
