The China Grand Canal Museum in Yangzhou, East China's Jiangsu province was listed among the national 20 demonstration practices for immersive cultural and tourism, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced on July 4.
The museum boasts a digital exhibition hall, three permanent exhibition halls, and six thematic exhibition halls, as well as more than 10,000 cultural relics. It received the honor due to its immersive exhibitions.
Located in Yunhe Sanwan scenic area, the 79,000-square-meter museum collects, displays and researches canal-related cultural relics, while also carrying out tourism and cultural exchanges.
The museum has made innovations in terms of how it displays collections and educates children.
It has received 4 million visitors since it opened to the public in 2021 and has become a popular tourism destination among visitors both from home and abroad.
