With manufacturers in China showing a strong demand for game-changing products and technical solutions, TE Connectivity Ltd, a Swiss connector and sensor manufacturer, is poised to enhance its localization strategies and introduce its latest technologies into China's thriving auto market, said a senior executive.
As China's automotive sector undergoes a transformation marked by innovation, speed and agility, automotive component suppliers must possess the crucial ability to rapidly iterate and respond to emerging technologies and applications, said Field Sun, vice-president and general manager of TE Automotive China, a business unit of TE Connectivity.
In anticipation of these industry trends, Sun said that TE Connectivity has taken proactive measures to prepare for the future by consistently introducing new ideas and empowering its industry consumers to navigate the transformation and embrace positive change.
To address the growing demands of the emerging new energy market - particularly for higher battery density, ultra-fast charging, and innovative connectivity and wiring solutions - TE Connectivity has unveiled a range of impressive products and technologies. This includes their next-generation high-voltage connector series and second-generation charging inlet, specifically designed for high-voltage powertrains, charging solutions and battery packs.
Supported by more than 85,000 employees globally, the Schaffhausen, Switzerland-headquartered group, designs and manufactures connectors and sensors for a number of industries including automotive, industrial equipment, data communication systems, aerospace, defense, medical, oil and gas, consumer electronics and energy.
In addition to showcasing its latest high and low voltage connection products at Electronica China 2023 - a major trade fair in the Asian electronics industry held in Shanghai earlier this month - TE Connectivity made a global debut for its one-stop E-Mobility connectivity solution during the grand event.
Through a 100 percent realistic presentation of the vehicle body and chassis with connection solutions, the company demonstrated how its connectivity technologies play a role in charging, new energy powertrains, batteries and auxiliary power applications.
With more than 6,200 employees, TE Automotive currently runs five plants across China and it will build another factory to produce in-car entertainment systems and high-speed data connection related products in the country soon.
Backed by its innovation platforms, customization and localization strategies, Sun said the company is simultaneously transferring capacity, technology and talent from its Chinese team to the global market.
In response to the demands of global customers, TE Connectivity can leverage its global resources to meet domestic customers’ requirements for flexible customization, agile delivery and cost-effectiveness products, he added.
With China encouraging multinational corporations to play a bigger role in its market, premium industrial products, like new energy vehicles and smart home appliances, not only provide a solid foundation for the expansion of the domestic market in the country but also present significant opportunities for global companies, said Bai Ming, deputy director of international market research at the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation.
