Duty-free shops in South China's Hainan province are welcoming a large number of visitors as summer vacations start and the promotion of shopping festivals begins.
The 2nd Hainan International Offshore Duty Free Shopping Festival, which kicked off on July 4 and will last until the end of August, is triggering customers' interest by offering more discounts and new experiences.
Sales revenue of Hainan offshore duty-free shops reached 32.4 billion yuan ($4.53 billion) in the first half of the year, up 31 percent on a yearly basis, according to statistics from the Department of Commerce of Hainan province.
