A team of international students from Wenzhou Medical University recently conducted a summer study trip to the Huaxing She Ethnic Minority Traditional Medicine Park in Wencheng county.
Lei Yan, head of the park, took students to visit the Chinese medicinal material base, which grows medicinal herbs such as Thunberg Fritillary Bulb and Fructus Gardeniae. By establishing exclusive workshops, the park has planted over 46.7 hectares of herbal medicines and promoted the development of the local industry.
Lydia Ojwang, a first-year pharmacy student from Kenya, said that it was her second visit and she learned a lot about Chinese medicine.
Through field visits, interviews with individuals, and livestreaming sales, the students learned about Chinese medicinal materials and the current development situation of the industry in the village.
Wang Fei, a clinical medicine graduate from Cameroon, said she tried selling via livestream and plans to share the benefits of Chinese medicine with her foreign friends and family."
The activity was participated in by more than 20 students from 11 countries, including Cameroon and Kenya. While experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese medicine, they also explored new models for the development of traditional Chinese medicine.
