The tranquil and beautiful former residence of Zheng Banqiao is located in Xinghua, a county level metropolis that is administered by the prefecture-level city of Taizhou, in East China's Jiangsu province.

The most famous member of the Eight Eccentrics Painters group of then Yangzhou city during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Zheng was a master who specialized in painting orchids, bamboo and stones. In addition to painting, he is also well-known for his poems and calligraphy works.
Built during the Qing Dynasty, the former residence is where he lived before becoming a successful candidate in the ancient Chinese imperial examinations.

The residence has north-south architecture and consists of a gate house, a main hall, rooms, a study and a kitchen, as well as two patios. There are ancient articles of daily use and artworks by Zheng on display at the residence.
