Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province has been conferred with the title of Pilot City for the Health-related Industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt – as well as National Advanced Prefecture-level City for TCM, or traditional Chinese medicine.
What's more, the Taizhou Innovation Center for Medicine and the Health Industry has been listed in the "Plan on the Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta".

As the first national pharmaceutical high-tech zone in China, the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone is the pilot zone for the regional cluster development of new vaccines and the specific diagnostic reagents industry – as well as being included in the third batch of pilot zones for the national innovation industry – designated by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

At present, relying on the national pharmaceutical high-tech zone and top 100 medicine enterprises – including Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, JumpCan and the SZYY Group Pharmaceutical Limited – Taizhou is taking full advantage of its industrial ecosystem. This is to vertically integrate the upstream and downstream and develop the health-related industry – incorporating pharmaceuticals, medical care, elderly care, health foods and tourism – and build Taizhou into a leading national medical city and a magnet for the healthcare sector.
