Hefei Software Park was officially established in Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone on July 27.

Ten software companies headquartered in cities like Beijing and Shanghai signed agreements to launch their key software projects in the park on the same day.

Hefei is striving to become a "Renowned Software City in China" and the establishment of Hefei Software Park marks the beginning of a new journey for the software industry in Hefei, according to local officials.

With a floor area of 1.2 million square meters, the park is home to over 300 software companies and about 13,500 employees. The park's output value in 2021 was 17.2 billion yuan ($2.55 billion), and it has cultivated 13 listed companies, 719 national high-tech companies, and 240 high-growth companies.

Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone has recently prioritized the software sector as a way to strengthen its capacity for independent innovation, and the zone's thriving software market is anticipated to support the further growth of Hefei Software Park. The zone is home to over 900 businesses that deal with software. Revenue from the zone's software service business increased by 26.8 percent annually in 2021 to 50 billion yuan. Revenue from the software business exceeded 1 billion yuan in six companies and 100 million yuan in 70 companies.
