China will conduct a final review on the anti-dumping measures applicable to optical fiber preforms imported from Japan and the United States starting Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce said in an online notice.
Optical fiber preform is a specially designed cylindrical glass rod that serves as precursor for manufacturing optical fibers. It is the initial stage in the production of optical fibers, which are widely used for high-speed data transmission in telecommunications, internet connectivity and other applications.
Based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Commerce, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council has decided imported optical fiber preforms from Japan and the US will remain subject to anti-dumping duties specified in the Ministry of Commerce's notices issued in 2015, 2018 and 2020, according to the ministry's trade remedy and investigation bureau.
The review will commence on Tuesday and should be completed before July 11, 2024.
