The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu held a road show in Shenzhen on July 6 to attract more high-caliber talent and innovation projects to the area.
The road show was aimed at establishing platforms to advance exchanges between government departments and major innovative enterprises, said Cao Yonghong, head of the area's human resources bureau.
Jiang Yumin, head of the organizing department of the NETDA Party committee, said during the event that Nantong has established an array of innovation platforms such as the Nantong Advanced Communication Technology Institute and the Integrated Circuit Packaging and Testing Industrial Park with the support of Beijing, and said she expected more Shenzhen-funded innovation projects to be launched in NETDA.
Twenty-four projects related to the area's four pillar industries - new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, medical care and new energy - were displayed during the road show.
NETDA will select several outstanding projects from the road show to participate in the area's upcoming innovation and venture contest, and eligible projects will receive a start-up fund, housing subsidies and living allowances, according to authorities.
NETDA authorities also visited Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School and the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology of the Chinese Academy of Science to discuss the operation of industrial parks, attraction of innovation projects and top talent, and the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
