Luyuan village in Jining, East China's Shandong province was recently included on a list of key tourism villages that was released by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as the National Development and Reform Commission.
Luyuan village is the home of Confucius, an Ancient Chinese philosopher and educator. It has been exerting dedicated efforts to build itself into a scenic area by making full use of local resources.
A number of national major projects are located in the village, such as Nishan Sacred Land, Luyuan Small Town, and Liren Meisu Hotel. Nishan Sacred Land is a culture resort with 10 billion yuan ($1.55 billion) in investment. The first phase of the project has been completed and is open to public.

Liren Meisu Hotel is a place where visitors can experience local traditions and taste local specialties. The first group of 12 houses has been built.
Nishan Honeybee Technological and Cultural Park covers a total area of 266.7 square meters in the village and has 400 million yuan in investment. It features a variety of facilities like an R&D center, a leisure hall, and a honeybee culture museum.
