The Narisong Photovoltaic Hydrogen Demonstration Project in Juungar Banner of Ordos city successfully produced its first batch of hydrogen gas on June 29.
As China's first megaton-level new energy hydrogen production project, this venture has achieved multiple innovative breakthroughs in the field of hydrogen production.
It not only represents significant progress in promoting new energy construction in Inner Mongolia through innovative models, but also signifies the city's entry into the fast lane of building a world-class new energy industrial base.
The project mainly utilizes a coal mining backfilling area to build a photovoltaic power station and transports green electricity to the hydrogen production plant in the Juungar Economic Development Zone through a high-voltage transmission line, utilizing water electrolysis to produce hydrogen.
By exploring a new model of pollution-free and zero-emission green hydrogen production, the project addresses the core issues of power balance and absorption in the high-proportion grid connection of renewable energy.
In addition, the project has made innovative developments in large-scale electrolytic hydrogen production equipment. It has developed a modular and decentralized control system for the entire plant, greatly enhancing the safety and reliability of the operation of the process equipment.
Currently, the equipment debugging is going smoothly, and the gas production is stable, with the expectation of achieving mass production by September.
