Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, actively arranged for companies to participate in the 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE), which was held in Changsha, capital of Central China's Hunan province, from June 29 to July 2.
Themed on "Common Development for a Shared Future," this year's CAETE attracted 53 African countries with diplomatic relations with China and 12 international organizations to participate, with an exhibition area of 100,000 square meters (10 hectares) and more than 1,500 exhibitors.
At the CAETE, 23 foreign trade enterprises from Xi'an sought business opportunities and expanded economic and trade cooperation with Africa.
These enterprises covered four sectors: foreign contracted projects, foreign investment, labor cooperation with Africa, and foreign trade.
The Xi'an municipal bureau of commerce and Li Family's Group (Hongkong) Limited discussed exploring the African market.
Ma Xiaoqin, deputy director of the municipal bureau of commerce, hoped that Li Family's Group (Hongkong) Limited would deepen cooperation in agriculture, light industry, construction materials, and other sectors in Xi'an.
The bureau also visited African enterprises and their exhibition halls at the CAETE and had friendly exchanges with relevant African participating enterprises to enhance mutual understanding.
