The national summer cultural and tourism consumption season kicked off on Tuesday in Jinshitan National Tourism Resort in Dalian, Liaoning province.
With a focus on the summer season, provinces and cities across the country will host a series of cultural and tourism promotion activities to stimulate and satisfy the desires and consumption needs of travelers.
A representative from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's industry development department announced targeted measures to promote consumer welfare and enhance consumption. The aim is to innovate the supply of consumer products and create a favorable environment for consumption.
The department also released 20 immersive cultural and tourism new business model cases, highlighting the role of immersive experiences in revitalizing and expanding consumption.
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, China Eastern Airlines and Didi Chuxing announced plans and measures to encourage summer consumption in the cultural and tourism sectors. The China Association of Performing Arts announced summer music festivals, concerts, theater performances and tourism-related shows.
Dalian, a well-known port city, is developing itself as a world-class tourist destination. The city's bureau of culture and tourism launched 100 cultural and tourism hot spots and a variety of activities highlighting food, entertainment, shopping and sightseeing.
It will also cooperate with companies such as Meituan, Didi Chuxing and UnionPay to distribute cultural and tourism consumption vouchers valued at 3 million yuan ($414,348), as well as travel discount vouchers and consumption coupons, to enhance Dalian's cultural and tourism consumption market.
