Suzhou Museum West

Suzhou Museum West welcomed its first batch of visitors on Sept 25.

The museum has an exhibition area of 1.34 hectares and consists of specific exhibition halls for local history, arts and crafts, international cultural exchange, paintings and calligraphy, personal exploration, and virtual reality interactions.

Located on the first floor of the museum, the Hall of Suzhou History displays 1,200 pieces of collections of cultural relics and offers visitors a rare glimpse into Suzhou's history.

The Hall of Suzhou Arts and Crafts is located on the second floor of the museum and showcases about 800 exhibits from the Song Dynasty (960-1279) and later, including jade carvings, bamboo engravings, metal productions, folk instruments, woodblock paintings, Su-style furniture, and Su embroidery.

Located on the second floor of the museum, the Hall of International Cultural Exchange is themed on the history of world civilization. The first show is centered on the Ancient Roman Civilization and has 267 exhibits from the British Museum.
