The construction of the Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Supporting Industrial Park and the Audi PPE Supporting Project was launched at the Changchun International Automobile City in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, on June 30.
A total of 23 projects have commenced, with a total investment of 44.48 billion yuan ($6.13 billion), and it is expected that by 2025, the new energy vehicle supporting the industrial park will accommodate more than 50 enterprises, with an estimated output value of 30 billion yuan.
Audi FAW's new energy vehicle project is reported to start pre-mass production by the end of this year. Audi's most advanced car factory in the world will soon be completed in Changchun, with three pure electric new energy models, a production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, an annual output value of 80 billion yuan, and an industrial chain of 300 billion yuan.
The Automobile Avenue, where the industrial park is located, is marching bravely toward becoming the "first avenue" of China's automobile sector.
In the next three-five years, the production capacity of complete vehicles on both sides of the avenue will reach 1.4 million, and more than 150 supporting enterprises will be gathered. The region is set to achieve an annual output value of over 500 billion yuan.
