White goose industry booms in Shulan

In 2022, the city started to construct a white goose industrial park project with a total investment of 1.42 billion yuan.

So far, eight items are under construction in the core area of the park, the goose meat product production and processing zone with an investment of 166 million yuan.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 and after beginning operation, the park has an expected annual output value of 5.9 billion yuan, while bringing in 310 million yuan in tax revenue and providing over 19,000 job opportunities.

There are 15 leading enterprises involved in the industry, including those of goose feather products, slaughtering and hatcheries.

There are 395 breeding households and three specialized villages for raising geese in the city. The total sales of white goose breeding and processing reached 671 million yuan, around 2 percent of which came from foreign trade.

The industry has provided about 15,000 job opportunities to residents in rural areas and injected 44 million yuan into the incomes of local farmers.
