Xiangtai Warehouse, the first smart zero-carbon warehouse for electrical power supplies developed by the State Grid Taizhou power supply company, was recently put into operation.

Located in Taizhou, Jiangsu province, the warehouse is powered by a distributed photovoltaic power station. Here, electric forklifts instead of traditional diesel ones are used for warehousing operations, while electric pick-up trucks are used for urban distribution, thus significantly reducing the warehouse's carbon footprint.

Ni Huahao, a representative of the company, said that the warehouse is part of the company's efforts to establish an environmentally friendly and technologically advanced digital intelligence supply chain.

State Grid Taizhou has since 2021 been embracing digitalization and low-carbon principles to become more efficient and sustainable. Efforts to do so have resulted in unmanned management and monitoring of the entire supply chain, as well as self-service material collection. The company can also monitor, analyze, and control of energy consumption and carbon emissions within the warehouse.
