A panel comprising experts from seven government departments, including the Nanjing Customs and the Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, expressed their satisfaction with the infrastructure and supervision facilities of the Nantong Comprehensive Bonded Zone's Phase III project following inspections that took place on June 27.
Located in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, the 2.64-square-kilometer facility will be home to industries such as new energy, healthcare, new-generation information technology and cross-border e-commerce.
The zone, which was approved by the State Council, China's cabinet, in 2013, has now been expanded to 4.61 square kilometers.
The zone's 1.77-square-kilometer Phase I project and 0.38-square-kilometer Phase II project received official recognition in 2013 and 2016.
To date, the zone has welcomed more than 400 enterprises including TW Solar and COSCO Shipping, its actual use of foreign capital totaled $1 billion, and its total imports and exports were worth 60 billion yuan ($8.27 billion).
The zone has provided services to more than 500 companies nationally, including Tongfu Microelectronic and Jiuli Group.
