The opening ceremony of the Nobilia & Raumplus Asia-Pacific production and R&D headquarters took place in Wuxi National Hi-tech District, also known as Wuxi New District or Xinwu district, on June 28.
The headquarters, with a total investment of 200 million euros ($218.33 million) and an area of about 135,000 square meters, includes multiple standalone structures such as production workshops and home furnishing exhibition halls.
It is part of a memorandum signed in 2018 by Nobilia, the largest cabinet manufacturer in Europe, and Raumplus, a top-tier brand specializing in sliding doors, room dividers, and wardrobes, to provide customized wardrobe solutions for China's middle and high-end consumer market.
The headquarters is Nobilia's largest high-end custom furniture production base outside of Germany. The company also plans to install the same automated production lines as its German headquarters in the WND base.
A consul from the Consulate General of Germany in Shanghai said that the German manufacturing industry is highly respected worldwide, and Nobilia and Raumplus, as two renowned brands with a long history in Germany, will surely bring higher quality living experiences to Chinese consumers.
Lars Michael Bopf, chief executive officer of Nobilia, expressed the company's confidence in the future development of the headquarters. He added that Nobilia will further promote intelligent manufacturing and establish smart factories to garner the trust of more customers and business partners.

Cui Rongguo, Party secretary of Xinwu, said that the opening of the headquarters will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of the intelligent manufacturing industry in the district and even in the city. He expressed hope that the company will enhance technological exchanges and cooperation with local partners and said that the WND government will continue to provide comprehensive support and services to the enterprises.
