Two buildings in Suzhou New District, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, recently received prestigious Chinese prizes for construction projects, local media outlets reported.
Suzhou Museum West won the Luban Award, which is known as the Oscar of China's construction industry.
With an overall floorage of 48,300 square meters, Suzhou Museum West consists of 10 cubes with a side length of 25 meters. It used Portuguese limestone and a unique installation technique to build the curtain walls, creating an integral façade effect.
The project employed 10 new technologies in the construction industry to ensure quality and construction progress.

The renovated farmer's market at the fifth zone of Yangshan Huayuan Residential Community was awarded the National Quality Project Award, the earliest national construction honor in China.
The project integrates shopping and relaxation with delicate designs and reasonable routes for people's movement.
In addition, 21 other projects in the district have recently received Jiangsu Quality Project Award, the top number in Suzhou.
