On June 21, Huangpu district announced that 166 project contracts were signed with a total investment of 201.5 billion yuan ($31.2 billion).
Among them, 82 project contracts were signed and 84 projects officially began construction. Among them, 28 are new energy storage projects, with a total planned investment of about 35.5 billion yuan, and an estimated output value of about 81.2 billion yuan.
Huangpu has issued a preferential policy regarding new energy storage to promote the development of the new energy storage industry. This will provide support of up to 100 million yuan for newly introduced large-scale projects.
New energy storage technologies include new lithium-ion batteries, flow batteries, flywheels, compressed air, hydrogen (ammonia) energy storage, and thermal (cold) energy storage.
Huangpu will continue to promote the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and remains committed to building a modern industrial system. The district takes the real economy and manufacturing as its lead, will seize more opportunities for technological and industrial transformation, and will accelerate the development of the new energy storage industry.
