During the June 18 shopping festival, online retail sales in Quzhou reached 1.81 billion yuan ($252.28 million), a year-on-year increase of 29.25 percent, ranking third in Zhejiang province in growth rate.
The online retail sales of real industry totaled 1.69 billion yuan, accounting for 93.38 percent of total online retail sales. The e-commerce of agricultural products generated 99.567 million yuan in online retail sales, up 27.26 percent year-on-year, the highest growth rate in Zhejiang province.
According to data released by JD.com, Quzhou has become the city with the fastest growth rate in transaction volume in Zhejiang province.
During this promotion period, the top three industries ranked by online retail sales of physical goods were clothing and shoes, textile products, cultural and office supplies, and communication equipment. Their online retail sales were 409 million yuan, 404 million yuan and 313 million yuan, respectively.
Quzhou's livestreaming platforms achieved 210.41 million yuan in total online retail sales. Among them, Douyin, Diantao and Kuaishou were the main platforms for livestreaming.
"Based on this year's sales, it can be said that consumers are more rational than in previous years, but essential items were still the main purchases," said the person in charge of Jiangshan Gegewu E-commerce Co Ltd.
