Authorities of Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province attended the 37th International Tourism Exhibition in Hong Kong from June 15 to 18 to showcase its profound culture and abundant tourism resources.
Representatives from the Nantong municipal bureau of culture, broadcasting, television and tourism introduced the city's scenic views, intangible cultural heritage, cuisine, and special products.
More than 20 kinds of cultural and creative products related to the city's intangible cultural heritage items, including blue calico and sachets stuffed with traditional Chinese medicine, were on display at the exhibition. Over 1,200 copies of tourist traffic maps and brochures about Nantong's sightseeing routes were distributed during the event.
The Hong Kong exhibition, the largest of its kind in the city in recent years, was attended by more than 400 exhibitors from over 50 countries and attracted about 60,000 visitors.
On May 26, a direct flight between Nantong and Hong Kong was launched, which is expected to facilitate cooperation between the two cities on economy, culture, and tourism.
