In the wake of the of vitalization of traditional Chinese medicine, the Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group – located in the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – has set out on the path to planting standardized TCM crops.
That follows the company's move to settle its standardized planting base for gardenias in Fuding city in East China's Fujian province in 2016.

With a long history of cultivating gardenias, Fuding city has established an entire industrial supply chain for them and the output value of the industry currently tops 1 billion yuan ($139.85 million).
In response, the Yangtze River Pharmaceutical Group introduced a whole process traceability system to realize quality control over the entire lifecycle of gardenia medicinal materials.
To boost the rural vitalization, the group has adopted a sales and marketing mode that includes the company, cooperatives and farmers, to benefit local gardenia farmers and maximize mutual financial benefits.
