The first phase of the youth community project construction in the Wuhan Future City, East Lake High-tech Development Zone (also known as Optics Valley of China, or OVC), was concluded. Now 2,194 apartments in A district are available for tenants.
The community nears two parks and occupies an area of 550,000 square meters, fusing accommodation, office work, businesses, sports, and culture.
Fang Shihang, who had just got employed by a local tech company, moved into one of these apartments and was satisfied with what he got. "I finally can live an ideal life – I just need to cross a road to reach my company!" Fang said.
As a graduate having a master's degree, he is granted a living subsidy of 1,500 yuan ($210) every month from the government, which means that he can use all the facilities in his apartment for free.
While choosing among apartments, Chu Ziqiang, Fang's classmate, paid more attention to the surroundings and equipment inside the room. And the whole series of smart home devices, intelligent curtains, and other facilities in the apartment, as well as the 24-hour public security service, made him feel safe and convenient to live there.
Recently, drug stores, restaurants, cinemas, book bars, and other infrastructure around the community have been put in place gradually.
