The First China-Russia Local Cultural and Art Season is set to kick off in Harbin, the capital of China's northernmost Heilongjiang province, on June 14.
The event, hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Heilongjiang Province, will showcase a series of art, cultural, and consumption events with prosperous life and artistic atmosphere, held between June and August.
The event will feature six major events, including opening and closing ceremonies, a parade, street performances, food tastings, and an electric music festival. Altogether, 125 events will be held in eight themed sections, such as dance, street art, and cultural tourism.
As an innovative initiative in the cultural exchange between China and Russia, the "Street Performances" section will feature eight categories such as music, paintings, acrobatics, magic, and clowns that will be performed in public spaces such as city landmarks, scenic spots and transportation hubs in Harbin.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Harbin Grand Theater on the evening of June 14. At the same time, the closing ceremony is planned to be held at Volga Manor at the end of August, with several events, including cultural exhibitions, intangible heritage displays, and a culinary competition between China and Russia.
