On the roof of Zhejiang Jiansheng Group Jiangshan Knitting Co Ltd's factory building are 25,000 square meters of monocrystalline silicon components that provide a continuous supply of green energy for the company.
"Fifteen of every 100 pairs of socks are produced using green energy," said Yu Huiben, who is in charge of the company's energy management. With help from green energy, the company's annual output value has reached 970 million yuan ($135.31 million).
In recent years, Quzhou in Zhejiang province has issued local standards for an industrial carbon account system based on the needs of different companies.
Based on this system, the power department has developed a comprehensive energy service for Zhejiang Jiansheng Group Jiangshan Knitting Co Ltd, allowing the carbon emissions of each of the company's process to be accurately calculated.
In addition, the company's smart energy management system is connected to the carbon account system.
The company's carbon emissions data for electricity, natural gas, raw coal and other sources is clearly presented in the carbon account system. If energy consumption exceeds expectations, the system will issue a warning.
By using photovoltaic energy, the company can reduce its annual carbon dioxide emissions by 1,906 metric tons and its electricity costs by 2.2 million yuan.
To continue saving energy and reducing carbon emissions, the company has also invested 22 million yuan into the construction of a constant temperature and humidity air treatment system, reducing the energy consumption of the company's refrigerators in the summer by 15 percent, which in turn reduces annual carbon dioxide emissions by 328 tons. Meanwhile, internal hot air in winter is not heated by heat sources, reducing annual carbon dioxide emissions by 2,430 tons.
