Baotou does well in ecology protection

From January to May, there were 118 days with good air quality in Baotou, with 78.1 percent of total days reaching the national standard. Since the beginning of this year, Baotou has comprehensively promoted the implementation of the Action Plan for 2023 Pollution Prevention and Control, and improved the quality of the ecology and environment.

This year, the city has announced 67 key pollution prevention and control initiatives, including 34 airfield projects. After completing the key projects on air prevention, the city's particulate matter emission concentration, sulfur dioxide emission concentration, and nitrogen oxide emission concentration will be significantly reduced.

Four renovation projects have been completed, such as the ultra-low emission transformation of a dust collector in the smelting area of Baogang Group.

The city is also implementing 14 water pollution prevention and control projects. After the completion of these projects, the urban domestic sewage collection and treatment capacity will be increased by 100,000 metric tons per day. In particular, Saikhantal's wetland construction and regional reclaimed water reuse project will improve lake water quality and restore the ecology.

In addition, Baotou has vigorously promoted the reduction of solid waste at source and has built seven green industrial parks, 10 green supply chain management enterprises, and 49 green factories.
