Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province was recently designated as the host city of the 13th Jiangsu Horticultural Exposition in 2025.
The news was released at the recently-concluded one-month 12th Jiangsu Horticultural Exposition in Lianyungang, which attracted about 220,000 visitors.
Wuxi secured 17 awards at the provincial expo, including first prize for garden art and floriculture.
Being the host city for the first time, Wuxi is expected to present a grand expo showcasing the new achievements and practices in the green development of urban and rural construction.
The 13th edition's core exhibition area will be located in Xiakewan Science City in Jiangyin to make full use of the cultural scenic spots, including the former residence of Xu Xiake (1587-1641), a celebrated Chinese travel writer and geographer, and Yangsheng Garden.
"The provincial expo usually spans about one month, but the upcoming edition will run from April to October to allow visitors to enjoy the beauty of Wuxi in different seasons," said Wang Wenxi from Wuxi municipal affairs, forestry, and parks bureau.
