Guangzhou Port and Autonomous Port of Abidjan signed a cooperative agreement on June 5, making the Autonomous Port of Abidjan Guangzhou's 55th-friendly port.
Under the agreement, the two ports will collaborate in areas of port operations, management, investment, mutual visits, technology promotion, and green port initiatives.
Kouame Konan, the consul general of Côte d'Ivoire in Guangzhou expressed that this agreement marks the beginning of friendly cooperation between the two places, which will lead to enhanced economic and commercial exchanges.
Huang Bo, the general manager of Guangzhou Port Group, stated that this partnership will elevate the collaboration between the two ports to new heights and contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative as well as to China-African economic and trade exchanges.
Guangzhou Port, as an international shipping hub, has established friendly cooperation ties with multiple ports in different countries, making it the top-ranked port in terms of the number of friendly port partnerships nationwide. This cooperation agreement is set to further enhance economic collaboration between the two regions, while also promoting mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.
