An environmental protection event was held in Xintai, a county-level city of Tai'an, Shandong province on June 4, to celebrate 2023 World Environment Day, which falls on June 5.
During the event, 300,000 fish, including silver carp, were released into the river to regulate algae growth, control water eutrophication and maintain biological diversity.
The event also included a variety of activities such as an exhibition showcasing ecological environmental protection achievements, a photography competition, an essay competition, and a hand-painted bag competition. These activities highlighted the participation of various sectors in the city's ecological construction efforts.
