Heshun county is situated in the eastern border of Shanxi province. Encompassing a total area of 2,250 square kilometers, it is embraced by majestic mountains from all directions. The region boasts a diverse range of vertical climates and abundant forest coverage, fostering a thriving population of herbivorous animals.
Remarkably, the area has identified a population of 89 individuals as the minimum count for the North China leopard. It is truly exceptional that this county serves as the sole habitat for a visible, healthy, and continuously expanding population of the leopards.
