Zhoushan hosts investment promotion conference in Shanghai

Authorities in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province held an investment promotion conference in Shanghai on May 29.

Representatives from more than 60 cultural and tourism enterprises across the country attended the event.

Liu Zhonghua, head of the publicity department of the Zhoushan Party committee, noted at the conference that the event was aimed at establishing a platform through which investors can gain a better understanding about the city's cultural and tourism sector, and attracting more quality projects.

Li Jincheng, deputy director of the city's bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports, outlined Zhoushan's cultural and tourism industry development plan and geographical location, as well as its ecological, cultural and natural resources.

More than 10 representatives from industry-leading enterprises such as Intercontinental Hotels Group and Sunriver Holding Group Co, showed their desire to make investments in the city.

Mo Zhao, CEO of Orion Camping, said that his company has invested nearly 100 million yuan ($14.1 million) in building an equestrian facility in Zhoushan, and is planning to launch more cultural and tourism projects in the city.

Zhoushan aims to launch 130 cultural and tourism projects with a combined investment of 23.6 billion yuan, of which 20 major projects are related to agritourism, holiday resorts, boutique hotels and educational bases, according to authorities.
