Quzhou's retail sales of consumer goods reached 26.31 billion yuan ($26.31 billion) from January to April, a year-on-year growth of 11.6 percent, the second highest growth rate in Zhejiang province.
In particular, wholesale, retail and catering consumption increased significantly with the optimization and adjustment of epidemic prevention and control policies.
The wholesale, retail and catering sectors grew by 37.6 percent, 14.7 percent and 31.9 percent year-on-year, respectively.
The total retail sales of eight major categories of goods, including automobiles, petroleum and products, grains, oil and food, communication equipment, clothing, shoes, hats and knitted products, medicines, daily necessities, and tobacco and alcohol, amounted to 6.43 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.4 percent.
Due to New Year's Day and Spring Festival, consumer demand for clothing, shoes, hats, textiles increased by 14.1 percent year-on year, while demand for gold, silver, and jewelry increased 24.7 percent year-on-year.
In the first four months, retail sales of automobiles ranked first in total retail sales of consumer goods, reaching 2.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.4 percent.

Kecheng district, Qujiang district, and Jiangshan, a county-level city of Quzhou, each issued 10 million yuan for automobile promotion activities. A total of 5,864 cars were sold in the three regions, and automobile consumption subsidies of 26.41 million yuan were distributed. The automobile sales of the three regions totaled 961 million yuan.
