The China-Europe Chang'an freight train successfully resumed its cold chain import service following the COVID-19 pandemic, as more than 180 metric tons of beef, chicken wings, and other meat products transported by the freight train arrived at the designated meat import port of Xi'an Port on May 29.
The freight train departed on its journey from Chekhov Railway Station in Russia, traversing the Alashankou Port in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region before reaching its final destination in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi province.
To ensure the integrity of the cold chain during transportation, the freight train utilized advanced automatic diesel-electric integrated temperature-controlled refrigerated containers. These containers boast the capability to precisely control temperatures within the range of -29 degrees and 29 degrees, accommodating the specific temperature requirements of various goods.
This modern freight train is well-suited for transporting frozen food, fresh fruits and vegetables, aquatic products, and electronic goods that necessitate meticulous temperature regulation.
The restoration of this vital cold chain import service signifies a significant step forward in revitalizing trade and strengthening economic ties between China and Europe.
