Nantong University in East China's Jiangsu province has been included in the sixth batch of pilot universities for systematic capacity building in computer science programs by the Ministry of Education.
In recent years, the university's School of Information Science and Technology has focused on strengthening systematic capacity building in computer science programs and achieved improvement in the quality of talent cultivation.
A team led by several professors has conducted curriculum restructuring and developed practical training platforms.
Following years of exploration and practice, the university has carried out reforms in course content and teaching methods related to computer science, allowing students to gain a comprehensive understanding of computer systems and enhance their systematic thinking and problem-solving skills for complex engineering problems.
On May 11, international third-party evaluation agency Clarivate released the ESI, or Essential Science Indicators, for May 2023, in which Nantong University's computer science discipline entered the global top 1 percent for the first time.
