The world's first hydrogen energy urban train, developed by CRRC Corporation, was unveiled at the 2023 China Brand Day in Shanghai on May 10.
The train consists of four carriages and has a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The built-in hydrogen power system provides a strong and durable power source, and can achieve a 600-kilometer battery life.
The train uses a combination of hydrogen fuel cells and supercapacitors to replace the original catenary power supply scheme. The energy is generated by the electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen in the hydrogen fuel cells.
Freed from the shackles of catenary operating conditions, the train can be widely used in existing non-electrified line sections, greatly increasing the application range of urban vehicles.
The train adopts the highest level of automatic driving technology, endowing the vehicle with intelligent driving functions such as automatic wake-up, automatic start and stop, and automatic return to the warehouse.
At the same time, a vehicle-to-vehicle communication system has been adopted to optimize the vehicle control process and greatly improve the efficiency, safety and reliability of the train's operation.
For the first time, the train has adopted 5G large-capacity train-to-ground communication technology to realize the multi-network integration of train-to-ground information transmission, while using big data analysis technology to evaluate the train's running status to ensure driving safety.
