Huangshan city unveils initiatives to boost night economy, tourism

Huangshan city in Anhui province unveiled a set of initiatives aimed at promoting the growth of its night economy to bolster economic activity and consumption on May 19.

The 10 initiatives include the launch of night tours and night-time sports activities, and the development of several night markets. A "Sanjiangkou" night performance brand will also be created.

Other measures include building night-time accommodation and camping facilities, extending hours for central commercial areas, and optimizing night-time transportation. Huangshan intends to generate awareness of its night-time attractions and events through a series of promotional and marketing campaigns.

These initiatives are aimed at turning Huangshan into a top eco-friendly tourist destination that offers distinctive cultural experiences and a thriving nightlife scene.

From June to December 2023, the top three scenic spot operators that offer night tours and generate the highest business income in a given month will receive rewards of 30,000 yuan ($4,254.71), 20,000 yuan, and 10,000 yuan.

To incentivize travel agencies to bring in tourists, the top five agencies that introduce the most overnight visitors to Huangshan city this year will receive rewards of 100,000, 90,000, 80,000, 70,000, and 60,000 yuan.
