Wolf cubs rescued after their mother vanishes

After receiving the report, together with workers from the local forestry and grassland bureau, rescuers from the brigade rushed to the site.

After identification, the three cubs were recognized as the Tibetan wolf (Canis lupus chanco), a subspecies of gray wolf, which is rated as a national secondary protected animal in China.

In the following days, firefighters and workers spent two days looking for the mother wolf, but they could not find her. For better protection, the cubs were sent to the county's wildlife rescue and breeding station to receive further treatment.

Currently, the cubs are in good condition and will be released after demonstrating the ability to survive in the wild.

Between 2020 and 2022, the firefighting detachment of Chamdo ity twice rescued griffon vultures, a species under national first-class protection in China.
