Jinan strives to breaks through sports industry

The 2023 Jinan Trendy Sports Consumption Season will be held from June to November.

The event will feature fitness training, equipment, as well as sports tourism and research, and offer a diverse range of consumption scenarios.

Seven themed activities, including the distribution of sports consumption vouchers, the first Quancheng trendy sports games, bazaars, leisure activities, road races, a summer sports research camp for youths and the 2023 Quancheng (Jinan) Marathon, will be held during the season.

The first Quancheng trendy sports games will feature at least 10 activities such as street dance, baseball, skateboarding, freestyle roller skating, balance bikes, frisbee, rock climbing and skipping rope.

Six million yuan ($851,193.81) of sports consumption vouchers will be issued through online and offline channels.

The marathon will be held in late October or early November and have a planned scale of more than 20,000 people. Its route will run through the economic center of Jinan and display the city's unique urban landscape.

The Jinan sports bureau had in 2022 enhanced the comprehensive strength of competitive sports and promoted the transformation and upgrading of the sports industry.

Jinan authorities said that they will continue to boost the development of the sports industry this year by improving the city's competitive sports ability and creating two mass sports brands called Quancheng and Yellow River.
