Inner Mongolia's industrial performance takes forefront in national rankings

Inner Mongolia autonomous region in North China has emerged as a powerhouse in the energy sector, showcasing exceptional performance in the first four months of this year.

According to the latest statistical report released by the region’s bureau of statistics, Inner Mongolia's energy sector has achieved remarkable results, with five of its energy industrial indexes securing leading positions in the country.

In terms of raw coal production, industrial enterprises above the designated size in the region have showcased outstanding capabilities. From January to April, these enterprises produced a staggering 408 million metric tons of raw coal, securing the second position in the country. This significant output accounted for 26.7 percent of the national production during the same period.

Furthermore, Inner Mongolia's coal production has also contributed to the increase of the national raw coal production by 0.7 percentage points year-on-year.

Inner Mongolia's prowess extends beyond coal production, as its industrial enterprises above the designated size have made substantial contributions to electricity generation. During the same period, these enterprises generated an impressive 176.57 billion kWh of thermal power and 43.18 billion kWh of wind power. These figures accounted for 9.1 percent and 14.8 percent of the national thermal power and wind power generation, respectively, propelling Inner Mongolia to the top position in both categories.

From the perspective of liquefied natural gas (LNG) production, Inner Mongolia has established itself as the frontrunner.

From January to April, the region's industrial enterprises above the designated size produced a total of 1.78 million tons of LNG. This remarkable achievement represented a year-on-year growth rate of 11.5 percent and accounted for 29.8 percent of the national output during the same period, securing Inner Mongolia's position as the leading producer in the country.

Additionally, Inner Mongolia has excelled in coke production. Industrial enterprises above the designated size in the region produced 16.85 million tons of coke from January to April, marking a significant year-on-year growth of 10.4 percent. This production volume ranked second in the country.

The production of Inner Mongolia's coke accounted for more than 10 percent of the national coke production during the same period. The region contributed to the increase of the national coke production by 1.0 percentage point year-on-year.
