This is the first official record of mollusks which rely on photosynthesis for nutrients in the Chinese mainland.
"Elysia leucolegnote, an intertidal benthic mollusk, is only 5 to 8 millimeters long, less than the size of a button," Wan said. "They look like a leaf with a white skirt. Its 'leaves' are yellowish-green or dark green, which is its protective color."
