The opening ceremony for the 14th Songhua River Fish Cuisine Festival kicked off at Songhua River Resort in Jilin city on April 27.
Spanning three months, from April to June, the festival was mainly organized by the Jilin government. During this period, 47 themed activities will be rolled out to promote the influence of the river’s fish products and fishing culture, which is set to further integrate local culture with tourism. These include sports events, health maintenance activities, sales promotions, and cultural performances.
After a promotional video for the city was played at the ceremony, several chefs and fish restaurants were awarded for their delicious fish dishes.
Also at the ceremony, the Jilin bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism announced six new high-quality culture and tourism travel routes.
After the opening ceremony, government leaders and guests visited several fish stalls, and learned about the sales situation of these fish in a detailed manner.
